Welcome to the site for strength, courage & indomitable spirit! Blind Motivational Speaker and Martial Artist Robert J. Ott shares his journey with people all over the world. Known as the “Flowering Warrior,” Robert transforms uncertainty into positive energy.
He lives by example and dignity. In 1990 Robert became a victim of a violent crime when a man shot him in the head. The bullet traveled through his brain and out his right eye, leaving Robert near death.
An observant nurse named Fran Orth acted on her instincts and arranged for a premier surgeon to perform a risky surgery that saved Robert’s life.
Robert faced intensive rehabilitation and setbacks that included meningitis which required surgery to transfer a portion of his stomach to the frontal lobe of his brain. Robert was left completely blind and with total loss of smell and taste.
Through his Flowering Warrior spirit and love of life, Robert overcame this tragedy.

Global Hapkido Conference Information
The following letter is in regards to a large and important function that is happening July 19th and 20th, 2008 in San Francisco, CA. Chief Master Robert J. Ott has been asked to be one of the speakers and instructors for this event. Robert will also be having a table display of both his hard cover book and the newly released audio book. The audio book also contains a bonus dvd with photos and video of family and fellow martial artists who are a large part of his success in overcoming the challenges that his life has received.
