SPOTLIGHT On... Robert J. Ott
8.27.2010 - At the age of six, Robert Ott put on his first martial arts uniform. Little did he realize that this uniform was going to be a uniform of life. By the age of sixteen, he had earned his first degree black belt. Two years later, he became the Chief Instructor of the Dragon Gym under Grand Master Goh Chae Teok, and went on to operate his own school. In 1990, he was the victim of a violent crime that left him completely blind as well as without the ability to smell or taste. Worse, the tragic incident erased his passion to make a difference in life. After several years of searching and questioning, he began to discover purpose in his life once again. Today, he is a motivational speaker, father, and martial arts instructor. In his biography, Certain Victory, he shares his story and addresses several issues, including disability, being a victim, financial loss and depression. You can meet Robert Ott at the Collingswood Book Festival. And find out more about him when you visit his website, www.certainvictory.com

Hey Robert! I wanted to send you some good news! The final numbers came in for your cover last year. Your cover was our 2nd bestseller all year! Right behind our first ever women’s issue (which we did promote quite a bit!) So your cover was very well received! Congratulations!! This is great news!!

Laura Stolpe Managing Editor TaeKwonDo Times

Monday October 12, 2009 Hello Robert! You have been selected into our Hall of Fame this year! Your official recognition will be Master of the Year. This will be in the January 2010 edition.  Congratulations! We are honored to have you!

Sincerely, Laura Stolpe Managing Editor TaeKwonDo Times
